The Furry Thing I’m Thankful For

Today I am thankful for my furry little heart (as I like to call her…), Riley.  She came into my life at a time I needed her love the most and hasn’t disappointed me with all that love since.  She was one of four puppies to survive in her litter after her mom had a C-section.  I had last pick of the females and almost waited for the next litter so I could have first pick.  If I would’ve done that, I would’ve ended up with a different dog that maybe wouldn’t have impacted my life so much.  I also might have gotten a dog without hip dysplasia, but I have my problems, so she can definitely have hers.  Riley is the first and only dog with hip dysplasia from her parents and after the breeder found out, she pulled her parents from her breeding program.  Funny how genetics and environment work out.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  And now a throwback fat puppy picture:

Look at the size of that belly!!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got their fill of food, I sure did!  All you Black Friday shoppers, try not to get trampled or into fights tomorrow morning…remember the spirit of the season.  I go Black Friday shopping around 9 AM when everything’s calmed down some.  My sister goes at like 4 AM and is nice enough to get the things I need to get then and I just pay her back.  It’s a pretty sweet deal…I would recommend it to anyone!!  🙂

  1. Awww, ACD puppy photo! So cute. Just look at those little paws. It's funny how life works out, isn't it? The small decisions we make sometimes lead to the most life-changing events. I'm glad you chose Riley, too. 🙂

  2. Oh, puppy picture! SQUEEEE! You know, my Beautiful Raja had the hip displaysia something awful. Poor thing. It made her grouchy sometimes. But we all loved her.Slobbers,Mango

  3. Hi Y'all! Thanks for stoppin'. I had to rush out the other day after readin' about your car…don't worry…my Human says she's had a couple of GM cars over 200,000 and one Poppa sold at just over 300,000 still goin' strong. My personal traveling car is a Chevy and Poppa has a Chevy Diesel pick up that he lets me ride in the bed when the weather is nice. I have to ride in an airline crate that Momma has so tied down with bungies…where does she think I'm going? Glad y'all had a great Thanksgiving!Y'all come back now,Hawk aka BrownDog

Riley loves hearing from her friends!
