It’s been a while since Riley’s had a broken nail. She used to break them all the time, but now she’s on fish oil and it seems to have been helping. I found a big chunk of nail yesterday, luckily, it wasn’t a “bleeder.” And she didn’t have to go to the V-E-T to get the rest of her nail cut down. Phew. Still, it looked kind of gnarly finding the nail on the floor. So, since I thought it was gross, I figured I’d share it with all of you for your enjoyment…ha ha!
Yesterday was Grandpa’s SIXTIETH birthday! Good Lord, man, you’re old! 🙂 We went out to eat at a German restaurant and I had bratwurst with potato dumplings and sauerkraut and an apple crumb cake for dessert. The food was really good and authentic. Then we all came back to our house for him to open presents. Riley wanted in on the action and was feeling extra lovey dovey last night…

My dog Shadow used to lose her nails like that too. I would usually "find" them by stepping on them in bare feet. Happy Birthday Grandpa! It's funny how Riley loves to be part of all the festivities! You never know when free cake is gonna come around, right Riley? 😉
