I am taking a trip to DC this weekend and Riley is staying home with Grandma, Grandpa, and Chloe. Grandma will sleep in my bed with her (like she always does when I go on trips)…because Riley’s spoiled! I’ve been getting everything ready, but I don’t think Riley’s caught on because I haven’t pulled my suitcase out just yet.
As soon as that suitcase comes out, she knows what’s going on. My mom said she used to look for me when I would go on a trip (when she was younger), but now she knows the drill when she sees the suitcase. I travel 2-3 times a year doing trainings for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This time I’m training state trainers in their Peer-to-Peer program in Washington DC. In June, I’m traveling to Denver to do a mentor training, and I’m excited about that because I haven’t been to Denver in YEARS and YEARS!
Also, I’m going to the BlogPaws Conference near DC in May!! I’m even more excited about that than anything else! I want to know who else of my blogging pals are going?? I want to meet you!

If you really look like a convict – I'm guessing if that trip happens, you can expect a full body cavity search? Frankly, I'd have them redo the picture! ;)Sounds like you have an exciting year planned! I have no such plans so I will live vicariously through you. I hope you plan on baking Riley a birthday cake! ;)Wow – 4 years old! Such a great age for dogs – they are out of their puppy stage and more settled.

Have a wonderful trip. LOL my friends dog use to lie in the case and they were forever getting searched in customs as the sniffer dogs went mad. How time flies Riley is four. Bet it seemed like yesterday when you first brought the pup home? Have a marvelous Monday.Best wishes Molly
