I dropped Riley off at the butt crack of dawn this morning at the V-E-T. Okay, so it was 7 AM, but still…it was still a little dusky out when we left. Anyway, I got her all dropped off and got a phone call about an hour later from the vet. He said her teeth look pretty good and her gums are “rock solid,” so she can probably wait another year or so before she has to get them cleaned. He said she only has a little bit of plaque and that it would be kind of pointless to put her under to get the little bit of plaque off of them. Plus, it saves me a bunch of money!!

Riley was not too happy to be at the V-E-T this morning…in fact, she wouldn’t get out of the car. I have baby Bailey’s car seat base in the middle of the back seat of my car, so I was trying to wrestle her out over that…it wasn’t working too well. Dummy didn’t realize I could just walk around to the other side of the car and grab her… I think she thought she was going to get shaved up, sliced up, stapled up, and go on crate rest when she got home!
Anyway, I’m happy to have her home–I missed her for the 2 hours or so she was gone. Pathetic, huh? Dogs truly are man’s (or woman’s) best friend.

Oh – I'm glad Riley's teeth are in such great shape! That is so funny that she didn't want to get out of the car! See? Dogs really do have excellent memories! I am the same way when I have had to drop off any of my dogs at the vet. It's like I don't know what to do with myself!

That's some good news about Riley's teeth! Keep her chewing and maybe she'll never need a cleaning.I am in total agreement about dogs being a best friend and completely understand how you'd miss her while she was at the vet. Even with a pack, when one is away, there is a big gaping hole in the pack!
