Riley’s V-E-T Visit…Yikes!

I have mentioned many times before that Riley acts a little…well…nuts at the vet…!  She gets super nervous and tries to get back in the car once she gets out and then hides under the chairs in the waiting room.  The only redeeming quality about going to the vet is that her favorite person in the WORLD is a receptionist there and gives her all kinds of loving and kisses!

She has taken up residence against the snack/drink machine…

Getting brave and peeking out from under the chairs…
What a goober.  If I didn’t love her so much, I would be embarrassed.  But at least she doesn’t get aggressive or anything when she gets scared/nervous at the vet!  She got her nails trimmed and got a heartworm test done because she was due for it.  She takes Heartguard and Frontline Plus religiously once a month, so I’m sure her test will come back negative.

Well, That Was Awkward…

We got this little gem of a book in the mail the other day and just had to share it with everyone!  It’s called “Awkward Family Pet Photos” and it hits store shelves today.  It is hysterical!!

Riley reading the back cover…what could be more awkward than a dog reading an Awkward Family Pet Photos book??

It seems to keep her interest!

I just love the picture on the lower left-hand corner.  Do those people not have smooshed faces like their dog??

I don’t know whether to tell you that the pictures or the captions were funnier!  There were some hilarious stories from Veterinarians and stories “behind the awkwardness” from the people that were in the pictures.  Most of the time, it was children who wrote in about how their parents made them pose with their pet pig or something like that.  Too funny!  The book is available today in bookstores and on Amazon.com and I highly recommend it as a Christmas present for any pet lovers out there…it is hysterical!  Check out the AFPP Book website for more information.
And…to make this post a little more awkward…here is a picture of Riley’s leg now that her staples are out!  The vet said her incision looks really good and she was acting her same old crazy self today at the vet’s office…sigh.  She saw her BFF, Brooke, and didn’t feel the need to pee for her today!!

Cuddle Bug

Riley loves to cuddle with me, whether it be in bed or on the couch (or anywhere else!).  I love it too.  🙂

Sweet girl.

Did I mention she loves getting (and giving) kisses?

Pretty Riley!
I forgot to include this story in my vet visit post yesterday…  When we walked in, there was this very overweight Jack Russel Terrier in the waiting room.  It proceeded to go psycho barking and yelping, pulling on its leash trying to get to Riley to say hi.  Riley just ignored it–didn’t even give it a second glance–and went about greeting all the staff at the vet.  I was so proud of her!  Sometimes (not all the time though) she barks back at a dog that barks at her, but thankfully, this time she didn’t!!
HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!  And HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!!!
