While Mom’s Away…The Dog Will Play

I feel so out of it when it comes to “Blog Land…!”  I went to St. Louis on Wednesday and got back laaaate Sunday night due to a twice delayed flight.  I went to train state trainers in NAMI’s Peer-to-Peer Recovery Education Course.  I had a great time but it was very tiring and I’m definitely glad to be home with Riley once again!  I told her I’ll never leave her again…until next time!  🙂  Here are some pictures of what Riley did while I was away:

A grainy picture of Riley playing with her big ball.
 Let’s play!!
Half of a rope toy.
Yum!!  Grandma gave her a Frosty Paws.
Waiting on Mommy’s delayed flight to finally get in…  Having fun with Grandma and Grandpa is exhausting!
Yay!!  Mommy’s FINALLY home!!  She always puts her ears back when she’s happy.
Big hug.  I’m so happy to be back home with my baby girl!!

Riley’s Time with Grandma

Here’s a peek at what Riley did while I was away this weekend:

First, she was being SUPER CUTE(!) and lying up on Grandma and Grandpa’s bed while Grandpa took a nap.
Then Chloe decided to join in on the napping action.
Then Grandma caught her trying to eat the apple pie she made!!  Bad girl!
Then she had to cuddle with Grandma for a while.
Of course Grandpa had to play with her!!  What kind of cattle dog would she be if she just napped all the time!?!?
Finally, a little happy to see Mommy again!!
Still super happy!!
Well, we hope everyone else had a good weekend!  Sorry I didn’t get around to other people’s blogs this weekend.  I was at a NAMI Peer-to-Peer training in Richmond.  I trained future Mentors for this program for about 7 or 8 hours a day, so I was pretty tired.

Best Dog in the House Award

Riley scared off some sales people or Jehovah’s Witnesses yesterday by standing up in the window barking.  It gets annoying but if it actually does some good then I like the barking!

We’ve been painting…  I’m so over painting!!  We painted most of the downstairs of our house.  Luckily we had up some baby gates to keep the dogs out of the way.  Riley was actually being good (for once)!  She was just lying down in the kitchen relaxing.  My parents’ dog, Chloe, was another story…  She was standing at the gate crying (loudly, I might add…) scratching on the gate and trying to bite the gate.  (This is the dog who has broken two canine teeth and had to have two root canals from biting the bars of her kennel boarding at the vet while we’ve been gone out of town).  So Riley wins the “Best Dog in the House” award for once!!

I went out of town last weekend to North Carolina to do a NAMI Peer-to-Peer training.  The wonderful mentors in training gave the other trainer and I balloons and cards the last day of the training.  The balloons are sagging almost to the floor now.  Boy do they scare Riley when they’re down on the floor!  She’s been growling and barking at them.  I guess it’s time to retire the balloons!
