She’s Back in Action…

I went to a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) meeting last night and got home around 8:00 PM.  I let Riley off of crate rest when I got home…talk about one HAPPY dog!  She and Chloe did zoomies in the yard and in the house and Riley was jumping up and off of the furniture with no problems.  She also RAN up the stairs about 3 or 4 times.  So I would say she’s feeling back to her old self now!

I haven’t heard her cry or yelp since she started crate rest last Monday.  She’s not on her pain killers or muscle relaxers anymore and she seems to be back to her old form.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being extremely cool and collected and calm and 10 being “insane cracker dog,” I’d say she’s probably at a 12 right now!  She has gone in and out about 87 bazillion times this morning and has had to bark at anything and everything outside and up in the front window.  I’m considering putting her back on crate rest just so she won’t drive everyone NUTSO!  😉  Somehow, I don’t think she’d go down without a fight on that idea…

Chloe was exhausted after playing with Riley last night!

Riley is back to her intense Cattle Dog stare and puppy eyes when someone is eating food…sigh.

Barking in the window first thing this morning!
Finally, I’d like to ask all of our readers that have Facebook accounts for a favor…  Riley eats Canidae dog food and right now on Canidae’s Facebook page, they’re having a “Smiling Dog Contest.”  I entered a picture of Riley…I mean, she’s ALWAYS smiling!  I was wondering if you could vote for her picture?  Voting ends May 31st and the folks at Canidae will pick the winner and take the amount of votes into account.  The winner gets a 6 month supply of dog food–we could sure use that!  You can vote once per 24 hour period, but we’re only asking our friends to vote once (don’t want to be THAT person!!).  Of course, as with any Facebook contest, you have to “Like” Canidae’s Facebook page, but you can always “Like” it and vote and then hide it or unlike it if you don’t want to follow them.  Click here to go to Riley’s picture and vote!  Thank you!
Also, I’m getting ready (or actually, I should say “I SHOULD be getting ready”) to head to the BlogPaws Convention in Tyson’s Corner, VA, about 3 hours away from where we live.  The conference starts on Thursday and ends late Saturday night, so we’re (Aunt Baddy is coming with me) heading back home on Sunday morning.  Riley isn’t going, but her counterpart, “Flat Riley” is!  I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and share them on the blog and Facebook page!  I’m very excited that it’s close enough to home to drive to (didn’t want to spend money on a plane ticket) this year and this is my first year going!
Question:  Will you be at BlogPaws this year?  Let me know, I want to meet you!  🙂

  1. Chloe looks exhausted! No doubt with all that wild behavior going on. I know exactly what you mean about Riley's actions. Sounds just like what our current foster Twiggy was like for the first few days. So glad that Riley is all better!
