Last Day!!

Thank heavens today is the LAST day of crate rest!  Today is trash pickup day at our house…Grandpa usually empties all the trash cans in the house and puts them in the big bin in the backyard on Sunday nights so he doesn’t have to get up extra early to do it on Monday morning.  For whatever reason, he decided he’d wait until this morning.  Riley normally “helps” with the trash…meaning that she likes to go flying out the back door and run around the yard while my dad takes the trash around to the front.

I was awakened very rudely at 6:30 this morning to Riley barking, and barking, and barking, and barking, and BARKING!  She was pitching a royal fit in her crate because she couldn’t go outside while the trash was being taken out.  I was sleeping upstairs with my door closed and she still woke me up.  The bad thing is, Bailey doesn’t come over for me to babysit her until 11:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays, so it was a “sleep in” day.  Needless to say, I was not very happy with Riley first thing this morning!

I am going to let her off crate rest tonight to go to bed upstairs, then she’ll be free roaming tomorrow.  She seems to be feeling back to her regular old crazy self.  She jumped up in the air the other day, trying to catch a bumblebee.  And she practically climbed up the front of Grandpa to give him a kiss in his face, which is something she couldn’t do last week.  So we shall see how her stair climbing and jumping on the couch goes tonight and tomorrow.

Of course, she’s been a perfect angel in her crate all morning since the trash went out, so I got to take a nap before Bailey came over.

Ignore all the black fur on the carpet by her crate…this dog sheds SO much!  I just liked that the crate couldn’t contain her big ears!

I don’t know why she has her toy on top of her feet…weird dog!

This was Riley and Grandma yesterday on Mother’s Day.  We took my mom and Aunt Baddy (Bailey’s mom; my sister) out for Italian food…it was SO good!

Love it!  I can’t believe my mom found a card “To Mother, From Dog!”  Good job, Grandma!
