I Took a Test

First things first…Riley is really enjoying getting to lounge around on “her spots” on our couches…you know, now that she isn’t in the crate anymore!  🙂

Upstairs on the couch…

…and…downstairs on the couch.  Funny fact:  all of the couches we own are tan…and microfiber…
I have been studying this little gem for the past week or so:
It’s a nursing school entrance exam study guide.  I applied to nursing school about a week and a half ago.  I sent my application in on a Friday, it got there on Monday.  I got a call Monday from the admissions officer saying that she had received my application and registered me to take the TEAS V (Test of Essential Academic Skills) the next Monday (today!!).
So I studied this manual and took some practice tests…did I mention I did horribly on the practice tests?  Alas, I did do horribly on the practice tests.  If I did well enough on this test today, I would get a day to come in and interview for a coveted spot in nursing school.  So I pretty much freaked out all week that I wasn’t going to do well on the entrance test since my practice test scores weren’t so hot.
Fast forward to today…I went and took my test and scored an 80%.  That’s in the 88th percentile for the nation and the 97th percentile for LPN Nursing Programs.  Phew!  So, I passed!  I did feel better though when I got there and found out I only had to get a 56% to pass (now doesn’t that make you scared for all your nurses that treat you?!?).  The lowest score I had gotten on a practice test was a 70%.  I guesstimated (before my results popped up on the screen) that I had probably made a 74%, so I was VERY happy when the 80% popped up.
Anyway, I should get a call tomorrow about scheduling the interview.  Now to brush up on my interviewing skills–it HAS been 4 or 5 years since my last interview…

Grandma and Grandpa were both off work today, so it worked out well that they could watch Bailey while I went to take this 3 hour test.  They fed her squash while I was gone…needless to say, she really enjoyed the squash!

And we finally got around to taking down our Christmas tree!  THIS is the aftermath of that though…  ^
Anyway, wish me luck on getting into nursing school!  It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid…and I’m just now getting the guts to do it!  🙂

  1. That is fantastic! Good luck on the interview! (with test scores like you got, they gotta accept you)How are the microfiber couches holding up to dogs? Do they attract much hair?

  3. That is excellent! Congratulations on passing your test so brilliantly! And you were worried..pshaw! Hope your interview goes well – be sure to keep us posted! By the way – just wanted to say you have even more of my utmost adoration at how well you survived with keeping Riley crated – TWICE. I only had Sam for 3 days and it nearly drove me and him mad!
