Broken Blinds

Riley is psycho.  Let me just start by saying that.  It should explain a lot.  She can’t stand to see another dog out walking with their human on the sidewalk in front of our house…so when she does, she stands up in the window and barks her huge little head off.  As if the dog and human outside are going to see her safely behind the glass being big and scary and cross to the other side of the street.

A poor, unfortunate soul must not have heard about the bad dog in that house at the end of the street, so they decided to walk their dog in front of our house this morning.  Big mistake.  Riley was up in the window like a flash, barking and barking.  The poor dog outside couldn’t even concentrate on keeping its four legs moving because of the psycho dog in the window!

They only thing she ends up “taking down” is our blinds!  Usually one or two of the vertical blinds will fall down, sometimes breaking at the top, so we have to replace them.  Today, she just got one of the blinds to come on the front side of our loveseat, instead of the back.  Thankfully, she didn’t break any–her Grandpa would have been mad!

  1. Oh my goodness – that reminds me of when I had my Shadow and Copper – they'd go ballistic so I finally had to move the couch so they didn't have such easy access to the window. I was convinced they'd eventually just break through the window they were so crazy! Good job at keeping the street safe Riley! 😉

  3. Your first line, "Riley is psycho" brought to mind what my friend used to call my Cairo. He always called her Psycho. But for Riley, you could also have just stated that Riley is an Australian Cattle Dog. She's doing what she should do…."self appointed guardian to the stockman, her herd and her property." (according to the AKC!) We have the same situation at our house but no barking, just warp speed to the window every time something goes past.

  7. Oh my goodness! Did Riley think that pulling a blind down would scare the "intruders" outside her front door? What a silly girl she is! I hope you were able to put the blind back up w/o any issues! Great story!
