Riley’s surgery is over. Everything went well! Her doctor said the anesthesia was “uneventful,” so that’s good. Her ligament wasn’t completely torn, but they still went ahead and did the TPLO surgery to keep the stress off of the ligament. Hopefully she won’t develop arthritis in that knee.
She should get to come home tomorrow, if all continues to go well. They will give her morphine today and throughout the night, then she’ll come home with pain pills and antibiotics to take from then on. She’ll need to stay crated for the 8 weeks again, just to ensure everything heals up perfectly like it did last time.
