Well, the verdict is in…
Partially torn cranial cruciate ligament. TPLO surgery on Tuesday, October 30th, (also Aunt Baddy’s birthday). But her surgeon did say he really likes Riley and that she’s sweet. He didn’t charge me for the visit either, just for the X-ray. He said the surgery will probably be cheaper this time around because they don’t have to measure the angles on the knees and all that since they did it last time.
8 weeks of crate rest. She won’t be sprung for Christmas, I don’t think. 😦 But that’s okay. I’ll probably let her sit by the Christmas tree with us on her leash on Christmas morning.
Dr. Dassler (her surgeon) said her hips actually felt really good. So that’s encouraging that at least her hips are still holding out. Hip surgery is much more expensive than knee surgery!
