K9 Kamp–Kamper’s Choice!

We completed our last week of K9 Kamp challenges.  We did something fun this week–it was our choice of what to do.  I took Riley up to Care-A-Lot pet store and we walked around in there and did obedience practice around all the toys and treats, then I took her to the lake to go swimming since it’s good for her joints.  She had a blast!  She went deeper in the lake than she’s ever been before.

I was proud of Riley at the pet store…a Beagle ran up to her and got up in her face and she just sniffed it.  Usually she would go all Cujo on me and act a fool…but she didn’t!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures because I was by myself trying to juggle a leash, toys, and treats, and a camera just wasn’t happenin’!  So here’s a video of Riley after playing fetch on a hot day…she likes to dunk her whole face in the water!

  1. The video made me smile! Dogs have such different ways of doing something so simple. Kelly is so dainty and ladylike drinking water, and Brooks slobbers all around and then leaves a trail of water dripping from his jowls all over! Thanks for participating in K9kamp!

  3. That's so funny – she looks like she is trying to eat the water to get it down faster!I highly recommend the hands-free leash. Actually, Since Blueberry isn't a puller, I just use a caribiner and attach it to my belt loop – I love it since it leaves my hands free for carrying full poo bags or taking pics!

  5. The video is adorable! Congratulations on a successful outing! That's not easy to keep your cool when a strange dog is so rude. Good on Riley for remembering her training and keeping it together. It must have been an awesome feeling.

Riley loves hearing from her friends!
