We finally got a chance to test out the Thundershirt to see if it actually works in a storm or not. It stormed pretty hard one night last week.
I have to say it works a little bit but does not work wonders for Riley like it does for some other dogs. She was still anxious during the storm and ended up sleeping most of the night underneath my bed. But…she didn’t pant or shake like she normally does, so that was good.
I was worried at first that she was going to get too hot with it on, but it seems pretty breathable and when I stuck my hand between the Thundershirt and her fur, it felt the same as the rest of her exposed fur, so that was good.
I’ll use it again, but don’t really feel like the results were worth my $40. All in all, I can’t say it’s a fantastic product, but I can say it works to a point. That’s just my opinion on it and how it works for my individual dog. If it works better for you, that’s fabulous!!

At least it calmed her pantin' down so dat is a sure sign of a little less anxiety. I would definately keep tryin' it when a storm is a brewin' and I bet hers will get betters.Puddles

I did read that for some dogs, the shirt has to be used a few times before you really start to see results. And it is a bonus if she wasn't panting and fretting too much and just slept under your bed. You'll have to let us know if you start to see even more improvement after a few more storms. 🙂 Hope it does start to help eventually.

I have me comfy spot where I go and hide and my human just leaves me too it and I'm OK. Just need me little hidey hole where i go to hide away! Hope the jacket helps!Best wishes Molly

I know whatcha mean! I tried using the thundershirt for Ellie's separation anxiety and it didn't seem to do much, except for let her know when we were about to leave her (cued by us putting on the shirt) lol! We haven't used it recently and probably won't again..
