Grandpa’s Birthday!

Yesterday was Riley’s Grandpa’s birthday!  We went out to eat at Red Lobster, then came back to our house and had dessert and he opened presents.  He said he had a nice birthday!

Opening his presents.

Dad and his girls.

This picture cracks me up…it’s a nice picture of my mom and dad, but look at Riley and her Uncle Jimmy behind them!  Riley can’t resist kissing her Uncle Jimmy in the face and was about to knock him over!

Chloe, Aunt Baddy, Uncle Jimmy, and Riley kissing Uncle Jimmy!

  1. Happy Birthday to your Grandpa! On another note – about Riley jumping up on Uncle Jimmy – now, is that an issue that she does that since she's a therapy dog? I'm asking because my Blueberry will randomly jump on people she likes to give them some love and I'm a little concerned about that in a hospital setting. She's not an avid jumper – and I'll tell her "off" – but still…any advice?

  3. Hi Blueberry's Mom,Riley is not at all allowed to jump up on people when we're gone on therapy visits. She only jumps up on people when they're on the couch at home or squatting down on the ground at home. Hard to explain, but she knows when she's on that leash and has her therapy bandana on, she's got to be on her best behavior. It's good that Blueberry isn't an avid jumper! You probably can catch her halfway in a jump and prevent her from jumping on anyone if you're quick enough. And if she listens to "off," that's good too.The jumping would definitely be an issue if she did that out on therapy visits. We usually visit the nursing home and most of the people are already seated–in a wheelchair, a chair, or in bed–so there's no way to really jump on them and knock them over. We've also been to a 4th grade class and Riley would be taller than the kids if she jumped on them and would definitely knock them over.Good luck!Elyse (and Riley)
