I have mentioned many times before that Riley acts a little…well…nuts at the vet…! She gets super nervous and tries to get back in the car once she gets out and then hides under the chairs in the waiting room. The only redeeming quality about going to the vet is that her favorite person in the WORLD is a receptionist there and gives her all kinds of loving and kisses!
She has taken up residence against the snack/drink machine…

What a goober. If I didn’t love her so much, I would be embarrassed. But at least she doesn’t get aggressive or anything when she gets scared/nervous at the vet! She got her nails trimmed and got a heartworm test done because she was due for it. She takes Heartguard and Frontline Plus religiously once a month, so I’m sure her test will come back negative.

You are correct – count your blessings that she doesn't make a big commotion when she is at the vet! I used to have a retriever mix that would bark and bark…and bark if he saw any other dogs. And since it was a vet's office – there were no shortage of dogs. I used to leave him in the car and then sneak a peak inside the waiting room so I could mentally prepare myself. He wasn't aggressive – it was just his way of saying hello – look at me – wanna be my friend? wanna play? heyheyheyheyhey!!! I recently adopted a blue heeler mix from a rescue – so I love that a cattle dog has a blog.

Well, I do gets nervous though.Wells, da place to be is next to a food machine…does they has beer in theres?Guess what, I popped ALL overs mum in da car today on da way to da vet. Her didn't find it amusing though.Puddles

Kip does fine at the vet UNTIL he thinks someone is going to trim his nails and then he is *not* a happy camper! Hope Riley gets a good report on the heartworm test!

We all do pretty well at the vet. Lightning is probably the most skittish, but he hasn't been there very much. Maybe you could bring some really tasty treats and give her one or two while you are waiting and praise her highly.Woos – Lightning, Ciara, Thunder, and Phantom

Ditto to Blueberry's Caretaker!!!! Our two Schnauziers aren't mean, they are just loud. But I'm glad your Riley is not that way!I have full confidence for her Heartworm test! Have you heard of the 6 month shot version of the HeartGuard? That is what R&R are on. Now we only have to do the flea stuff every month.~B~
