First of all–we’re in the single digits today!! 9 more days of crate rest until her follow-up appointment! I can’t believe we’ve made it this far…the 56 days seemed impossible at the beginning.
I took a picture of Riley’s operated-on leg last night. I can’t see a hint of a scar! Can you?
Yes, this really is the leg she had surgery on, I promise!
Chloe must have been feeling bad for Riley because she decided to keep her company the other night…
I’m just happy Riley wasn’t barking at Chloe…that’s her newest thing. I guess she’s jealous that Chloe’s out of the crate, walking/running around and she’s not!
Well, we better get some last loving on Chloe over these next 9 days. I’m sure when Riley gets “sprung” from the crate, she’s gonna want to play with Chloe non-stop and just kill her in all of her excitement!!! 🙂
Wow….are you really, really sure she was operated on? Can't see a thing there! She'll be so happy to be set free again….just in time for Christmas!

Riley has really been a trooper through all of this, and so have you, Elyse. It's hard to keep an active dog that you love so much crated, even if it's for their own good!!

We tip our hats off to you Elyse, for keeping Riley quiet for the almost 60 days. It must have been so hard for you, sleeping next to her crate and keeping her so quiet. It will certainly pay off soon!Drools and licks,Minnie and Mack

Wonderful news. So glad she is doing well. What is your secret for not giving in when she wants out? Ernie has never been a fan of the crate. But has gotten more used to it lately. Ernie didn't have surgery, at least not yet. He goes back next Monday for a recheck and maybe xrays. Depending on how his leg has healed so far….Her leg is looking good.Barb for Ernie,Sasha,Chica,Lucas

Thanks for stopping by. We adopted Ernie when he was 1 1/2 years old. Supposedly he was crate trained BUT whenever we put him in he went into such a panic mode he would hyperventilate and drool and in a very short time he would be soaking wet in the face. He has gotten much better but still doesn't like it. Cries a lot at first and eventually calms down. I give him treats when he goes in and a lot of progress. Other dogs have been easily crate trained. He is doing better so that is a plus. Thanks for the info and support. Glad you stopped by to visit.Ernie's Mom Barb
