Riley’s Long Therapy Visit

Riley and I went to the nursing home on Friday for our visit.  We usually stay about 30 minutes (it’s a small nursing home and we go at 1:30 and their next activity–usually BINGO–starts at 2:00), but this time we stayed for about 50 minutes.  Riley did very well.  She did crawl under one of the beds in Mrs. K’s room, but she came right back out…don’t know what that was all about!

We talked with a lot of the residents and I brought some of Riley’s puppy pictures to show them how her coloring had changed.  We had a great time and Riley was on (mostly) her best behavior.  When we pulled into the parking lot, Riley started whining out of excitement.  🙂

I don’t have time for a long post, but I do have a few pictures of the two amigos (Riley and Chloe)…

Silly Riley is a camera hog…!  Chloe usually doesn’t get up on my bed, but for some reason she has been ever since she got off of her crate rest/exercise restriction.

Another shot of the two girls.

Chloe on her “perch” and Riley keeping watch over the cul-de-sac.
We are getting the house ready for Aunt Nancy and her husband, Frank, to come visit on Thursday…that means we have to really crack down and clean and get rid of things!  I’ll be sleeping on the new air mattress we were forced to buy bought, and Riley will probably sleep on the couch near me like she did last time.  I’m putting my pink zebra sheets on my bed for Aunt Nancy and Frank to sleep on.  🙂

  1. What great joy a pretty girl like you must bring to the residents. Did you wear anything special? An opportunity for some new collar bling. 🙂 I think if I had smooth coats instead of fluffy ones I would be broke buying bling for them. Thankfully(?) everything gets lost in their ruffs, so it's pointless to go for anything but scarves. 🙂

  3. The residents at the nursing home are so lucky to have you and Riley come visit! It sounds like each week Riley is learning more and more what her role is there. So sweet 🙂

  7. When I drive into the nursing home parking lot the basset hound and the fox hound who accompany me there start wiggling and whining too! In fact, the fox hound likes to sing a short tune in the lobby right before visiting the residents. I think it is amazing how the dogs get as much out of visiting the residents as their humans do! Glad you and Riley had a great visit!

Riley loves hearing from her friends!
