Chloe is Home

Chloe is home and is in the crate…  Her Xanax and Tramadol haven’t kicked in yet to give her the sedating effect so she is making quite a fuss…which is in turn making Riley cry and bark every so often…oh Lord!!  I hope we survive the next two weeks!  Hopefully she’ll get used to the crate after a while and stop making such a huge fuss.  She cries more when she sees Riley but she even cries when Riley’s outside or upstairs and not around.

The good news is that the spots they aspirated on Chloe’s left kidney were not cancerous.  Now we just have to wait and see if we get the same results for the bladder and spleen.  She has to go back in 10-14 days to get her stitches and staples removed.  She doesn’t have an Elizabethan collar on because she hasn’t been licking thus far, probably only because she’s been too busy crying and barking in the crate!

  1. Oh my….I really feel bad for all of you. She is definitely not happy and it may do more harm than good to keep her crated. How does she act while she is at the vet's office in their confinement area? Would it be possible to just board her at the vet's for a few days so she can rest and come home when she no longer needs to be crated? We had to do that with one of ours years ago. Keep us updated if you can. I've been thinking about her all day today and wondering how she was going to do.

  5. Poor sweet girl! How long does she need to be in the crate? Thank goodness no cancer so far… Hopefully that means that the other spots were cancer free as well. Keeping positive thoughts for you guys!

  7. So happy Chloe is home and the spots are not cancerous! Wooo! I hope she settles down and allows herself time to heal…I'm sure she will as it's all new right now. Maybe try leaving on a TV or radio, when ours were upset in their kennels, the TV really worked! Good luck and she is in our thoughts that she heals really fast!

  17. I hope Chloe's bladder and spleen diagnosis is as positive as the diagnosis on her kidney too! Poor girl must be so tired after her surgery! I hope she is able to relax and rest so that the rest of the family members can relax as well!
